Meet Katie Graves
The face behind Babes In Arms and your at-home postpartum sidekick, making those first weeks easier and brighter.

A bit about me:
I became a postpartum doula after experiencing firsthand how challenging the transition into parenthood can be. After the birth of my first child, I quickly learned how significant that compassionate, consistent support is during those early postpartum weeks. My experience sparked a passion in me to provide care for new parents as they adjust, heal, and grow into their new roles.
Before becoming a stay-at-home mom and then a doula, I spent 11 years working in city government where I developed strong communication skills, empathy, and problem-solving skills while working with people from many different backgrounds. As a mom of three children, each pregnancy, birth, and postpartum season taught me that no two journeys are the same. I bring understanding, flexibility, and a calm presence to every family I serve.
I live in the Seattle area with my husband, our three school-age children, and our energetic Australian Labradoodle, Scout (who likes to think he is the family’s fourth child). I love the beautiful PNW scenery and don’t mind the rain one bit. When I’m not supporting families with new babies, you’ll find me reading cookbooks, baking, trying new crafts, or spending time with friends and family.
A bit about Babes in Arms:
I've always enjoyed the old-fashioned idiom "babe in arms" as referring to a baby in it's first year of life, and I knew this would be the perfect name for my doula business. My business name "Babes In Arms" references both the baby who has finally arrived and the person holding him or her, both of whom care is critical in the postpartum period. The drawing in the logo represents a reality of this precious time: lots of skin-to-skin contact, messy hair, and the newborn babe sleeping contently in the arms of a loving parent. And a little nod to my own experience: the face of the newborn in the drawing is that of my own sweet baby girl.
